Balla executed five painted tapestries for the International Exhibition of Decorative Art, "Art Déco", in Paris in 1925. In each tapestry the composition is inspired by flowers and appears bilaterally symmetrical although the sides are not precisely symmetrical. Warm color tones suggest burnt vegetation in the dry summer heat
