On the lower left, the workman sit down to eat in the mid-day sunlight. On the right, a group of workers, leaving for home and dusk, pass the softly illumonated sphere of a lamp-post while the light of the evening is still reflected on the building´s unfinished facade. The painted brick frame is by Balla. The composition recreates and unites three different moments in a simultaneous experience (space-time) in anticipation of the Futurist concept of simultaneity
